Bug Bounty in Nepal has been an emerging sector where all the tech enthusiasts tend to help companies to find bugs and help improve their security for which they receive a reward for their hard work. August 2021 was an awesome month as we got to know about our emerging talent, Mr. Manorath Aryal. Born in marvelous and beautiful place, Palpa, He is a tech-hungry guy who has a keen interest in learning new things.
As a reward for the critical security bug report, he received a total amount of around $5000 and an additional $250 as a bonus.
We had a conversation with him and got to know his experience of his bug bounty journey. He found this specific bug in December 2020 and reported it as soon as possible. “Whenever I mentioned any pages in my post, the owner would receive the notification before the post was public which was a major bug, ” he says.
It took almost 8 months for Facebook officials to verify the report but eventually, after the verification, they fixed the problem and sent a mail to Manorath Aryal with an appreciation as well as a reward worth $5250 which equals around NPR 6.1 lakhs.
