KTM 250 Adventure Overview
There was a period when adventure tourers were a foreign concept. Most standard motorcycles, such as the Hero Splendor, were designed to handle commuting, touring, and other tasks. These bikes were also used to handle the rough in rural areas. However, things have changed, and adventure tourer bikes have become the de facto norm when it comes to do-it-all bikes. Today, the sub-500cc category is dominated by KTM, which offers two bikes to the discerning consumer. The 390 ADV is still available, as is the 250 ADV.
The design of the KTM 250 Adventure dates back to the 390s. Initially, I had a hard time seeing the changes. Having said this, look closely, and you will see that the headlight is not a complete LED device but has a halogen lamp instead (quite bright at night). Driven DRLs are open. The air compressor of the 1930s are the same size, except the MRF meteor units are affordable. On the flanks, you will find the 250 patches, as well as the colors.
A console for LCD devices has been introduced, and the fancy TFT color schemes. However, Bluetooth connections have not been implemented. The meters, though, are readable in intense sunshine. A 12V charging port is also available right under the binnacle instrument.
This KTM is equipped with the 250 Duke engine. The sprockets system has been modified to allow both the 30hp/24Nm, 250cc engine, and the bottom end punch more midway.
Mileage-wise, glad to say that a rider can comfortably do 500 km with the 14.5-liter fuel tank. This means an economy closer to 38 kilometers per liter.
